India Reilly

India Reilly is a violinist studying with Gabrielle Lester at the Royal College of Music. Her work reflects a broad musical perspective, combining modern violin performance with a strong engagement in historical practice.

A graduate of St Mary's Music School, she was awarded the Director's Recital Prize, as well as the John Doig and Calvert string prizes. She received the Winifred Gavine Medal for Strings Recital and the Horace Fellows Medal for Chamber Music at the Edinburgh Competition Festival, and was highly commended in both the Lord Clyde Concerto Competition and the Nan Christie Memorial Prize for Strings.

She has participated in masterclasses with leading violinists including Esther Yoo, Jonian Ilias Kadesha and Simon Fischer, and regularly studies with Daniel Roberts. As a soloist, she has performed at venues including Greyfriars Kirk and St Mary's Cathedral, with appearances at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

India has a strong interest in orchestral leadership, serving as concertmaster with ensembles including the Innova Orchestra, the Albion Orchestra, and the Edinburgh Youth Orchestra. She was also a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, working with conductors such as Sir Mark Elder, Andrew Gourlay and Alexandre Bloch, and performing at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the BBC Proms.

Alongside her modern studies, she studies historical violin with Catherine Martin, and has taken part in masterclasses with Baroque specialists including Simon Standage and Leila Schayegh.

She is an active chamber musician, performing regularly in solo and chamber recitals across the UK and Europe.
